Position Summary CVS Health is recruiting for an Executive Director of Managed Service Provider Governance. This role will lead the technology delivery, continuous improvement, governance framework and strategic partnerships with external Technology Managed Services Providers. Primary responsibilities will include ensuring that the service providers deliver high-quality services that align with the organization's goals, policies, and standards. This role is instrumental in optimizing IT operations, cultivating vendor relationships, and spearheading continuous improvement efforts. You will oversee a $170M long-term managed services engagement, continued analysis of other areas of opportunities (big systems, mainframe) emphasizing the importance of excellence and efficiency in IT service delivery.

Delivery

Responsible for overseeing the rapid deployment of technological solutions, ensuring high levels of quality assurance, and conducting persistent testing to guarantee optimal performance. Candidate plays a crucial role in driving critical operations services during key events, working under pressure to meet tight deadlines and deliver exceptional results. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex technology projects, a strong background in quality assurance practices, and a relentless drive for operational excellence.

Continuous Improvement

Responsible for driving innovation and excellence through the continuous enhancement of contracted technical services. Consistently identify opportunities for improvement, implementing best practices, and staying ahead of the latest technological advancements. Drive modernization of the services portfolio by focusing evolution of services on the implementation of artificial intelligence, machine learning, intelligent automation and SOAR.

Financial & Risk Management

Work closely with finance and procurement teams to manage budgets related to MSP engagements. Ensure cost-effective utilization of MSP services and drive initiatives to optimize expenditures. Identify and assess potential risks associated with MSP engagements and develop mitigation strategies. Implement proactive risk management measures to ensure the security, compliance, and resilience of IT services.

Strategic Partnership

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with MSPs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and values. Collaborate with stakeholders to establish strategic partnerships that drive automation, cost-effectiveness, and operational excellence. Negotiate and review contracts, service level agreements, and other agreements with MSPs.

Governance

Create, implement, and improve governance structures and policies to ensure efficient supervision of IT Managed Services Providers. Define objectives and key results (OKR), key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics to quantitatively evaluate managed service provider (MSP) performance against contractually agreed service level agreements (SLAs). Continuously review and enhance the governance framework to adapt to evolving challenges and opportunities.Requirements:

Proven experience in leading a managed service function and governance with a heavy focus in vendor management, continuous improvement, and strategic partnering.

10+ years at a leadership level or above at a Fortune 500 company with significant scale.

Proven experience in IT governance, vendor management, and strategic partnership development. Strong negotiation, contract management, and financial analysis skills. In-depth knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) frameworks and best practices.

Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to IT governance and vendor management.

Proven track record in driving operational efficiency and process improvements. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.EducationBachelors Required. Masters Preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$175,100.00 - $334,800.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
