Position Summary

Deliver and support application systems, platforms and technology which meet business needs, performance SLA's and innovation opportunities by integrating information, business process and technology in a cost effective, timely manner.

The Senior Manager of Software Development will ensure software needs of Aetna clients. The position will oversee multiple development teams, own technical direction of the product suite, and manage Agile, Lean and SAFe delivery team in accordance with DevSecOps policies and industry best practices. Ensure successful delivery of application releases, supervise data management, adhere to appropriate design principles, and manage delivery team assets and resources. The individual will also serve as an expert in proposals and presentations, serve as a liaison with all stakeholders, provide direction and guidance to delivery teams, and act as strategist for delivery planning, blueprint creation, and budgeting.

• The Senior Manager will be required to support the teams by:

• Providing guidance on Agile fundamentals

• Leading Program Increment planning and preparation

• Monitoring project delivery

• Representing the domain at enterprise level business process discussions

• Representing the domain at enterprise level Technical Design discussions

• Serving as the point of contact for other Release Trains

• Serve as an oversight for portfolio delivery

• Effectively communicate with management and stakeholders

• Support financial planning, support of the domain teams, and general administration

• Coordinating projects with other domains

• Supports Vendor management & coordinate POs, SOWs , serve as Point of Contact for vendors

• Support Staffing forecasts and allocations

• Managing FTEs HR needs

• Representing the domain at high level strategy discussions, RFP, architecture, business process

Responsibilities:

• Independently designs and lead others in the development of cost effective application and program solutions.

• Leads or acts as a technical contributor in the design of new applications and enhancements including integration of purchased solutions.

• Independently performs and assists other team members in providing ongoing system maintenance, research, problem resolution and on-call support tasks for existing systems.

• Understand and adheres to professional standards, conduct and behaviors required by leadership position

• Responsible for Code Asset Management for an application or set of applications.

• Supports and promotes the reuse of assets across the organization.

• Serves as team leader to direct technical activities, providing support for simple and highly complex projects

• Receives some supervision and direction as regards prioritization of work but is competent to work independently

• Offers direction and oversight to assigned team.

Required Qualifications

3+ years managing and leading individuals reporting directly

10+ years’ experience in application program development, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Experience with application development support software packages.

Preferred QualificationsnoneEducation

Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required

Master's in Computer Science preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$118,450.00 - $236,900.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
