POSITION SUMMARY:

Member and Client Affordability Product Director is responsible for leading a team that owns the new development and ongoing management of drug cost savings strategies with a focus on copay card plan design solutions and member affordability. These strategies include, but are not limited to those that both support the appropriate copay accumulation and copay card use for member and client benefit designs. This will focus on pharmacy drug benefit designs. This role and the work of this team is critical in supporting our goal of providing best-in-class solutions for our clients. Success is measured by the effectiveness of each solution, the ability to stay ahead of market changes and competitor offerings, and the overall health and development of the team. The primary team the Director will lead may include both clinical (RPh) and non-clinical roles. The Director must be able to work within the clinical, financial, analytic and operational aspects that are necessary to for each program to be successful.

The role must establish a standard and consistent framework for how new product ideas are developed and rolled-out, working within the capabilities and constraints of our operational systems, reporting and tracking requirements and sales processes. This role will be responsible for working cross-functionally with many departments within CVS Health, most commonly Trade Relations, Clinical Development, PBM and Pharmacy operations, Sales & Account Services, Finance and Enterprise Analytics. These relationships will be key to ensure we have highly effective and clinically appropriate program that meets both CVS Health and client needs.

This role will require the appropriate application of several skill sets: clinical, financial/analytic, communication, creativity and the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects. The Director must have an executive presence, they must be able to work with and influence other leaders and represent the department and products both to external customers and internal executives.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Trade, Finance, CVS Pharmacy Operations, PBM Operations and others to ensure that our solutions are meeting both client and CVS Health objectives.

  • Manage team effectively and consistently around both the CVS Health values and goals as well as those set within the Product team. Ensure each team member is being developed and best using their skills within their role.

  • Partner with Product leadership to ensure emerging needs appropriately fit within the product portfolio and ensure any new work is prioritized against existing priorities.

  • Identify and champion new development efforts to evolve / improve the product portfolio in alignment with CVS Health and client objectives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 to 15 years of relevant work experience required, preferably in settings requiring strong product development and/or management ownership, balancing clinical – financial – operational and other aspects linked to and impacted by product decisions.

  • 2 or more years of experience leading teams with direct and indirect reports.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good experience working effectively with multiple other teams and driving work forward in a matrix-style organization.

  • Work experience should include understanding of pharmacy, benefit designs, copay assistance market along with utilization management programs, the data related to those programs and ability to think strategically to identify and improve product performance.

  • Adequate examples of strong written (e.g., slide creation, report development) and spoken communication skills that are effective with team member, colleagues and senior leaders.

  • Experience in client facing roles either independently or in support of the sales organization.

  • Ideal, but not required, to have experience with medical benefit management specific to step-therapy and/or preferred drug designs within the medical benefit.

EDUCATION:

Bachelors Degree or related experience required

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,500.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
